My name is Katie in short, I am a mother of four grownup children, I have twelve grand children and now a great grandmother to three handsome boys. As a girl child, I have experienced the disadvantage and the marginalisation of a girl child in our communities, especially the African culture has not been recognising the girl child more by empowering her or even educating her so that she reaches her potential to be able to look after herself. The girl child has been treated like a commodity that can be put a tag for sale and even make a bargain on her. On my journey I share my own experience. It’s about love and self care.
